Specifications
for Tite-Seal Leak Lock Plugs
The
Leak Lock system is a two piece system which is used when the octagon
flange gasket has been incinerated during the burning operation
of the reconditioning process.
This
plug replaces the traditional three piece system that uses a gasket,
retaining ring, and hexagon plug.
The
Leak Lock system alleviates the problem of alignment, therefore
saving you time and assuring your customer a quality seal. This
system is the simplest and most effective on the market to prevent
flange leakage due to drum incineration.

Tite-Seal S-insertion of Octagon Base
Drum Flanges
Technocraft
Industries and Con-Tech International announce the innovative Tite-Seal
Brand S-Insertion of Octagon Base flanges. This new method of inserting
flanges into drums provides the most secure closure available on
the market today.
Technocraft
Industries, with almost 30 years'experience producing drum closures,
is a world leader in the drum closure industry. Through its advanced
R&D efforts, the company has developed the new S-insertion method
of installing flanges into steel drums.
The
S-insertion method starts with the standard process of punching
and forming the pocket for the flange and then installing it into
the drum. The patented advancement that the S-insertion provides
is the crimping of the pocket around the flange. This crimping operation
pushes the metal at the bottom of the pocket under the flange, thus
locking the flange into the pocket.
With
normal insertions, in drop tests where the head of the drum falls
flat on the ground, the flange is pushed out of the pocket. Leakage
of the closures results. With our new S-Insertion method, perpendicular
flat drop tests do not result in flanges jarred from the pocket.
The
advantages of this innovative flange insertion method are:
- No
change or increased cost of the flanges
- No
additional or thicker gasket on the flange is required that results
in increased costs to manufacture
- No
change in closure procedures are required by the drum filler
- The
flange remains firmly seated in its pocket, unlike the standard
flange insertions when drums are dropped perpendicular to the
floor. The only change required is a tooling modification at the
drum manufacturer's plant.
To
insure the safest, securest package available today, please consider
specifying our S-insertion flange for your steel drum requirements.

Auto-Seal
Closure System
Con-Tech
International and Technocraft Industries are proud to introduce
our new labor saving Auto-Seal Drum Closing System. This system
can be customized to perform drum-closing functions for both drum
manufacturers and packagers of drums.
Technocraft,
as a result of its nearly 30 years producing closures for the drum
industry worldwide, has developed this new system to automatically
close drums. Each system is custom built to perform individual closing
functions required by each client. Both drum manufacturers and drum
fillers can significantly reduce manpower by using our Auto-Seal
System.
Drum
Packagers
Our
Auto-Seal Closure System can be customized to perform automatically
any or all of the following functions:
- Remove
plugs from drums prior to filling
- Purge
drums with cool, dry air or an inert gas
- Apply
a nitrogen blanket to the drum after filling
- Automatically
install the plugs into the drum
- Precisely
tighten the plugs to the required torque
- Automatically
apply and crimp the cap seals
Our
Auto Seal System can perform all of the above functions automatically,
thus reducing manpower requirements significantly. More importantly,
when hazardous materials are being packaged, utilizing our Auto
Seal System eliminates the dangers to personnel who would normally
be in close proximity to the packaging operation.
Drum
Manufacturers and Reconditioners
Numerous
functions can be performed by the Auto-Seal System in the plants
that produce or recondition drums. Our system can be installed in
one or more sections of plants, depending on where these functions
are performed. Closing operations that can be efficiently handled
are as follows:
- Purging
of drum with cool, dry air
- Helium
injection for helium testing
- Inserting
both the round head and hex head plugs, 2" and 3/4"
- Precise
torquing of plugs
- Application
and crimping of 3/4" cap seals
- Insertion
of paint plugs, prior to painting
- Removal
of paint plugs, subsequent to painting
- Orientation
of drum prior to silk screening
Whether
you make drums or fill them, the Auto-Seal Closure System can increase
your efficiency and profits. For additional information, quotations,
